Surely no words could be more angering, irritating – or frightening! Because WHAT IF they’re true? How do you KNOW? You believe more or less what everyone else believes about God. But God said “…narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it.” (Matthew 7:14)

The simple odds are, you are one of the MANY! And yet it is in your Bible that the way to salvation is NARROW, and only a few find it! But the MANY find the other gate – the gate that leads to death and destruction! (verse 13) – so do you want to be one of the MANY today who are finding destruction, and believing LIES about God, or one of the few who find LIFE? I’m about to show you that EVERYTHING you believe about God is wrong! And I WILL PROVE IT! I won’t ask you to believe me – but I WILL expect you to believe your Bible! God wrote the Bible so that YOU could understand it!

God chose the foolish things of the world – people without degrees and doctorates in theology, to confound the wise and respected! (1 Corinthians 1:27) Jesus thanked God that He HID these things from the wise and intelligent, and revealed them to spiritual BABES like you! (Matthew 11:25) So TRUST God and believe your Bible and see what it really DOES teach!

There are so MANY things you believe that are completely the OPPOSITE of what the Bible says that it would take a book to show them all, so I can only hit the highlights here! PLEASE Verify all of my facts in your own Bible – DON’T TRUST ME, or ANYONE, to tell you what it says! Read it for yourself! You can check the facts of history in any library, on the internet, or an encyclopedia. I promise you, you will be SHOCKED to find where your beliefs originated!

EASTER

The most important Christian holiday of the year – IS NOT CHRISTIAN! Easter was being celebrated at the same time of year, under the same name, thousands of years before the birth of Christ – by idolatrous pagans! The word Easter is in the Bible only once, and that only in the King James translation. About that translation, Bible commentaries say:

Acts 12:4 “Intending after Easter to…” “There never was a more absurd or unhappy translation than this… The word Easter now denotes the festival observed by many Christian churches in honour of the resurrection of the Saviour. But the original has no reference to that; nor is there the SLIGHTEST evidence that any such festival was observed at the time when this book was written. The translation is not only unhappy, as it does not convey at all the meaning of the original, but because it may contribute to foster an opinion that such a festival was observed in the times of the apostles. The word Easter is of Saxon origin, and is supposed to be derived from Eostre, the goddess of love, or the Venus of the North, in honour of whom a festival was celebrated by our pagan ancestors in the month of April. (Webster)” (Barnes New Testament Notes)

Other commentaries all agree that the word Easter does NOT belong in the Bible, and that the word Easter is of PAGAN origin as is the festival called by the same name! And that Jesus and the Apostles DID NOT OBSERVE EASTER! Because Easter is named for the goddess Eostre, a newer name for an old goddess called by different pagan cultures Ishtar, Astarte, and Ashtoreth – whom you find in the Bible VIOLENTLY condemned by God! (1 Kings 11:33)

Every year around the spring equinox, nearly every pagan culture celebrated the rebirth of life in honor of their fertility goddess. Since she was the moon goddess as well, she was often called the Queen of Heaven, where God again condemns and threatens anyone who worships her with terrible punishment! (Jeremiah 44:25, 7:18). I can’t devote any more time to Easter right now, but read The Real Origin of Easter to see MUCH more proof that it is PAGAN and that God HATES IT!

CHRISTMAS

Next to Easter, no festival is so dear to Christianity as Christmas. But Christmas ALSO predates Christ!

“Indeed, it is admitted by the most learned and candid writers of all parties that the day of our Lord’s birth cannot be determined, and that within the Christian Church NO SUCH FESTIVAL AS CHRISTMAS WAS EVER HEARD OF TILL THE THIRD CENTURY, and that not till the FOURTH CENTURY was far advanced did it gain much observance.” (Hislop, Two Babylons)

Before then, the pagan world celebrated the rebirth of the sun God on December 25^th, for thousands of years before Jesus was born. “Worldwide, interpretation of the event has varied from culture to culture, but most cultures have held a recognition of rebirth, involving holidays, festivals, gatherings, rituals or other celebrations around that time.” (Wikipedia, “winter solstice”) All authorities agree as you can see yourself.

And Jesus wasn’t even born in winter at all! The Bible says shepherds were with their flocks in the fields when Jesus was born – but Bethlehem is cold and rainy in winter, and according to contemporary historians shepherds never took their flocks out between early November and March, meaning Jesus was not born on Christmas, or anywhere close! But the pagan sun God, sometimes called BAAL in the Bible, was believed to be born on December 25! And the Sun’s birthday WAS celebrated with gifts and “Christmas” trees! (See Jeremiah 10:1-4 where God condemns the Christmas tree which was being decorated 600 years before Christ!)

God never commanded us to remember Jesus’ birthday, and never point-blank told us when it was! So why do YOU observe Christmas today? Because the Catholic Church said you should! Is that good enough for you??

“IN ORDER TO CONCILATE THE HEATHEN, AND TO SWELL THE NUMBER OF THE NOMINAL ADHERENTS TO CHRISTIANITY, THE SAME FESTIVAL WAS ADOPTED BY THE ROMAN CHURCH, giving it the name of Christ. This tendency on the part of Christians to MEET PAGANISM HALF-WAY was very early developed.” (Hislop, Two Babylons)

Christmas exists today SOLELY because the Catholic Church wanted to keep PAGANS happy! So should we CHANGE GOD to make SATAN HAPPY? Should we worship SATAN’S birthday just so we can have more people in the church? I think not!

SUNDAY

Nearly every Christian church keeps Sunday. But the Bible specifically says that the seventh day is holy – not the first! Look it up ANYWHERE and you will see the SATURDAY is the Christian Sabbath – not Sunday. The Bible never ONCE changed that, and the New Testament gentiles as directed by the Apostle Paul observed SATURDAY as the Sabbath (Acts 13:42 for instance). So why do you keep Sunday? Because the Catholic Church said so! And yet you call yourself a Protestant!

“It was the Catholic church which… has transferred this rest to Sunday in remembrance of the resurrection of our Lord. Therefore the observance of Sunday by the Protestants is an homage they pay, in spite of themselves, to the authority of the (Catholic) church.” (Plain Talk About the Protestantism of Today, p. 213)

You pay HOMAGE, not to GOD, but to the POPE, every single time you walk through the doors of a church on Sunday! Don’t believe me! Ask the Catholics – they are PROUD of the fact that they changed it! The BIBLE never said to keep Sunday to commemorate Jesus’ resurrection – the CATHOLICS TOLD YOU that’s what it meant! This is THEIR command, not God’s! And they glory in the fact that nearly every protestant on EARTH follows their example and REJECTS the word of God!

“The [Catholic] Church made a sacred day of Sunday… largely because it was the weekly festival of the sun; –-for it was a definite Christian policy [at Rome] to take over the pagan festivals endeared to the people by tradition, and to give them a Christian significance.” (Arthur Weigall, The Paganism in Our Christianity, 1928, p. 145)

Do YOU believe that any Man, even the Pope, as authority to change what God said? To OVERWRITE the Bible with his own whims? To CHANGE GOD’S LAWS? If you keep Sunday, then YES YOU DO!

“The pope has authority and has often exercised it, to dispense with the commands of Christ… He can dispense above the law, and of wrong make right, by correcting and changing law.” – Pope Nicholas

Sunday, Easter or Christmas, and HUNDREDS of other false doctrines that YOU STILL BELIEVE were handed to you by the POPE. The Catholic Church CHANGED what God said – they ADMITTED to changing it, and you can see in your own Bible that they did – and then said to you, dear Protestant, “worship ME! I am the ultimate authority, not God! I can do away with God’s days and make NEW days holy!” – and if you keep Sunday after this, YOU MUST BELIEVE THEM!

And yes, it DOES matter which day you observe – but I won’t get into that here, I’ll just remind you that God is out WORKING when YOU are going to church on Sunday! God goes to Church on Saturday. If you want to go to church with Him, you’d better go when He goes!

What you should be realizing by now is that Christianity as you know it was built on the foundation of paganism – not on the foundation of the Bible! That the protestant reformation was rather like teenage daughters throwing a tantrum against their mom in Rome – rejecting her authority, but still acting basically like she acts and believing what she believes. But get this! You are not a true protestant, or a true Christian, as long as you knowingly believe a SINGLE DOCTRINE that the Bible does NOT teach, but that your MOM, the Catholic Church, DOES!

THE RESURRECTION WAS NOT ON SUNDAY

You believe that Jesus died Friday afternoon, was in the grave Saturday, and resurrected Sunday morning. How much time is that? About 36 hours, if you count it up. Yet Jesus said:

Matthew 12:40 (NKJV) For as Jonah was THREE DAYS AND THREE NIGHTS in the belly of the great fish, so will the Son of Man be three days and three nights in the heart of the earth.

How many hours are in three days and three nights? Count for yourself. If you’re like me, you’ll get 72. TWICE what you believe! Did Jesus LIE? Was He, infallible God, WRONG? Or is it more likely that YOU are wrong?? If you ask the “wise” theologian, he will tell you that this is just a slang expression in the original Greek, that Jesus meant PARTS of three days and three nights.

So count up the days and nights from Friday afternoon to Sunday morning before dawn when He was resurrected (see John 20:1, it was still dark and He had already been resurrected). And remember that days in the Bible are reckoned sundown to sundown, so sundown on Friday actually began Saturday night.

So He was only in the grave Saturday and Sunday night, and Friday and Saturday in the daytime. That is only parts of TWO days and parts of TWO nights – not THREE DAYS AND THREE nights as Jesus said! So even if they are right about the slang expression (and they aren’t), it STILL can’t explain why He said THREE DAYS AND THREE NIGHTS!

Jesus said He would be in the grave the same amount of time as Jonah was, and Jonah was in the grave THREE FULL DAYS AND THREE FULL NIGHTS – 72 hours. Besides that, Jesus said in some places that He would be resurrected “within three days,” some “the third day,” but twice He said “AFTER three days” (Mark 8:31). There is NO way you can fit “AFTER THREE DAYS” into what YOU have always believed, 36 hours! And so the only way to harmonize all of those is to believe that He was in the grave EXACTLY 72 hours – otherwise some of those scriptures are WRONG.

Why do you believe this? Because the Catholic Church told you it was true and you never stopped to check! Ancient writings from the early church show that the Apostles didn’t believe this, and the Bible is very clear that Jesus died on a Wednesday and rose Saturday at sundown – but for the proof of that, read The Resurrection Was NOT On Sunday!

CONCLUSION

I haven’t begun to touch on the things you believe that are wrong! According to the Encyclopedia Britannica, 11^th Edition, article “Crosses,” “the cross was a pagan symbol of life borrowed by the Christians and interpreted in the pagan manner.” Even the cross is a pagan symbol! (Jesus was actually crucified on a stake.)

The teachings of Heaven and Hell are not found in the Bible! This is not the only day of salvation, contrary to what you’ve been taught! Once saved is NOT always saved! Jesus said that if you want to enter into life, that you MUST keep the commandments (Matthew 19:17)! The Bible says that FAITH ALONE can’t save you (James 2:20)!

There are HUNDREDS of such things you believe that are flat-out WRONG! And you are worshiping God IN VAIN, if you believe even ONE of these things! Jesus flat-out SAID SO!

Mark 7:7 (ISV) Their worship of me is WORTHLESS, because they teach HUMAN RULES as doctrines

These are HUMAN RULES that YOU obey as if God said them – while ignoring the things God really DID say! And if you do that, your worship of God is a WASTE OF TIME – absolutely WORTHLESS! Do you DARE to take the chance that you’re wrong? That you are worshiping the wrong God? There are hundreds of things that you DESPERATELY NEED TO KNOW! This is IMPORTANT to you! More important than ANYTHING ELSE IN YOUR LIFE! And it is available for FREE, all you have to do is ask and then take time to devote to the Being who CREATED YOU to learn what He expects of you!
