A friend of mine told me a story once, something that had happened to him. Most of us have had a similar experiences many times. He had been working for a nice elderly lady, and had gone inside to get paid for his day’s work. The woman was getting ready to leave, and so he politely asked where she was going, and she responded “Why, I’m going to my Eastern Star meeting!”

(For those of you who don’t know, Eastern Star is something like the women’s version of the Freemasons – and as such, is a branch of Satan worship.)

Well, this man didn’t want to cause trouble and tell this lady why that was evil, but he was disturbed and wondered what his responsibilities had been to that woman. Should he have told her it was evil, or should he just have kept silent and said nothing? What does the Bible say? Let’s see…

Leviticus 19:17 Thou shalt not hate thy brother in thine heart: thou shalt in any wise rebuke thy neighbour, and not suffer sin upon him.

He commands you NOT to allow your brother – OR your neighbour – to sin! If you do, then you HATE him!

It is your God-given responsibility to REBUKE, or CORRECT, a person that you see sinning! You ARE his keeper!

Genesis 4:9 And the LORD said unto Cain, Where is Abel thy brother? And he said, I know not: Am I my brother’s keeper?

As we know, he WAS his brother’s keeper. It was his job, if he loved his brother, to keep him from evil, and from harm… And also from sinning

Galatians 5:14 For all the law is fulfilled in one word, even in this; Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.

Let’s use an analogy we can all understand. If you and a friend are standing near a stove, and he knows that it is turned on… When you start to reach your hand out to lean on the stove, not knowing that it is hot… wouldn’t you want him to warn you before you got burned? To warn you at any cost? To “Rebuke you”, so to speak?

Proverbs 28:23 He that rebuketh a man afterwards shall find more favour than he that flattereth with the tongue.

Wouldn’t it be “Love” for him to tell you that you were about to get hurt if you didn’t stop? When you see your brother sinning, doing something that will lead to pain, misery, and death – what would you want him to do for you, if it was YOU that was wrong?

Wouldn’t you want him to make EVERY EFFORT to convince you that you were headed for suffering, even if it meant possibly offending you? Isn’t that “LOVE”?

Matthew 7:12 Therefore all things whatsoever ye would that men should do to you, do ye even so to them: for this is the law and the prophets.

If he LOVES you – TRULY loves you – he will not allow you to go through evil, without at least warning you. And you should do the same – THIS IS THE LAW AND THE PROPHETS. Most of the Bible is spent trying to convey this message!!

So the answer that showed the most love to this woman from our story, was… “Eastern star… wow… didn’t you know that at the top levels of that organization they tell you that Satan is actually God?”

This woman almost certainly didn’t know this – and she may want to know. Wouldn’t you want to know you were worshiping Satan? If you are going to love her as yourself, as you’re commanded, you MUST tell her the truth. It may be the only chance she has to turn from sin, and avoid it’s relentless penalties! How DARE you deny her that chance, and call yourself a Christian!

Because if you don’t rebuke her – if you see your brother, or your neighbour, or any man sinning, and don’t correct him – if he gets “burned” on the the stove of sin, it is YOUR FAULT. God has said so. If you know more than your neighbour, you are his watchman – Because you know where sin leads! As such, you’re one of few people who are able to warn him of the future!

Ezekiel 33:2-7 Son of man, speak to the children of thy people, and say unto them, When I bring the sword upon a land, if the people of the land take a man of their coasts, and set him for their watchman: If when he seeth the sword come upon the land, he blow the trumpet, and warn the people; Then whosoever heareth the sound of the trumpet, and taketh not warning; if the sword come, and take him away, his blood shall be upon his own head. He heard the sound of the trumpet, and took not warning; his blood shall be upon him. But he that taketh warning shall deliver his soul. But if the watchman see the sword come, and blow NOT the trumpet, and the people be not warned; if the sword come, and take any person from among them, he is taken away in his iniquity; BUT HIS BLOOD WILL I REQUIRE AT THE WATCHMAN’S HEAD. So THOU, O son of man, I have set thee a watchman unto the house of Israel; therefore thou shalt hear the word at my mouth, and warn them from me.

If you don’t warn this person, if she dies in her sins, God will demand a reckoning from YOU for not warning her! SO repent of this FEAR of correcting someone – anyone!

Job 31:34 Did I fear a great multitude, or did the contempt of families terrify me, that I kept silence, and went not out of the door?

Do you fear this woman? Yes, you do! You are afraid of what she will think of you. Afraid of losing your job. Afraid of being blackballed in the community. It’s time to STOP THAT! It’s time to CRY ALOUD!

Isaiah 58:1 Cry aloud, spare not, lift up thy voice like a trumpet, and shew my people their transgression, and the house of Jacob their sins.

How can you do that, while you fear to tell a little old lady that she’s worshiping Satan?

I’ll leave you with that thought.
