WHAT DOES THAT MEAN??

The entire Christian world believes that it means that the Law – that is, the ten commandments – is done away, nailed to the cross, and that we are under NO obligation to keep it – but IS THAT TRUE, or is that a FABLE, a LIE that God prophesied would be taught today!

Romans 6:14 For sin shall not have dominion over you: for ye are not under the law, but under grace.

WHY do they always stop reading there? Why don’t they keep on reading, and get the FULL meaning of the Bible! And don’t believe this article, believe what you see in YOUR BIBLE – If you take MY word for it, you’re no better off than before! It’s time you EXAMINED it and PROVED all things!

“Under the law” doesn’t mean under the OBLIGATION TO OBEY the law, like you’ve been taught! Oh, you might prefer to believe that – after all, it lets you go on doing things the way you’ve always done them – but it’s simply not true! You’ve been deceived, and by definition, a deceived man DOESN’T know that he’s deceived!

If you were deceived right now, you wouldn’t know it! Did you realize that? The truth of the matter is, that you ARE under obligation to OBEY the law of God! But you are NOT under the PENALTY of the law anymore, that is, IF you have repented! Now that’s a pretty shocking statement! But see for yourself if that isn’t EXACTLY what your Bible says!

Romans 6:15 What then? shall we sin, because we are not under the law, but under grace? God forbid.

No! Absolutely not! Paul follows up in the VERY NEXT VERSE by saying that just because you are not under the law, does NOT mean that you can continue in sin – and sin IS the breaking of the law (1 John 3:4)!

Romans 6:16 Know ye not, that to whom ye yield yourselves servants to obey, his servants ye are to whom ye obey; whether of sin unto death, or of obedience unto righteousness?

Now let’s make this clear; everyone knows that the wages of sin is DEATH (Romans 6:23). When you sinned, and ALL have sinned (Romans 3:23), you earned DEATH. You were then UNDER THE LAW – it’s penalty was hanging over your head, you were doomed, you had been placed on death row, so to speak.

Of course, keeping the law NOW couldn’t save you. Imagine if you were to kill someone, and earn the death penalty today. NOT killing anyone for a few months, or even the rest of your life, wouldn’t remove that death penalty from you! Once you had broken it, the law COULD not save you, although if you HAD kept it to begin with, well,

Galatians 3:12 And the law is not of faith: but, The man that doeth them shall live in them.

If you had obeyed the law, you’d have LIVED, because there is no curse for keeping the law! But once you broke that law, keeping it CANNOT save you! The law, because YOU BROKE IT, had put a curse on you. That curse was death. But Christ PAID for that curse, HE PAID the penalty that the law exacted from you, FOR YOU, in your place!

Galatians 3:13 Christ hath redeemed us from the curse of the law, being made a curse for us: for it is written, Cursed is every one that hangeth on a tree:

And when Christ paid the PENALTY that the law demanded, death, the PENALTY of the law no longer dangled over your head! You were removed from death row! And so sin no longer had any claim over you, because the penalty was PAID! You were not under the law any longer!

…But did that mean that you didn’t have to obey the law now? Absolutely not! As Paul said, GOD FORBID! But let’s continue our analogy, to help clarify this and make it crystal clear! A subject this important deserves to be explained so that any child can understand it!

If you killed someone, and were sentenced to death for your crime, keeping the law couldn’t save you anymore. The law demanded a penalty, and it was GOING to get it. But let’s say you got pardoned for your crime, a full pardon. Now the penalty of the law was not over your head any more! You were FREE from sin!

You were, in other words, no longer UNDER THE LAW! Does this mean you can go out and kill more people with impunity? Or steal, or perjure an oath, or even break the speed limit? Of course not – that’s ridiculous! Getting pardoned once, for PAST CRIMES, does NOT give you the right to commit future crimes without paying the price for them!

Now surely even a child can understand the logic of that! Once we are forgiven of our past crimes, our past sins, “Shall we that are DEAD to sin, continue any more in them?”, and Paul answers “God forbid!”

Romans 3:24-25 Being justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus: Whom God hath set forth to be a propitiation [a payment for sin] through faith in his blood, to declare his righteousness for the remission of sins THAT ARE PAST, through the forbearance of God;

It is for the remission of sins that are PAST that Christ came! Not for license to commit sins in the future! But some still ask “Well, what about Galatians?” Yes, what about Galatians?

As one rather confused person told me “Of course we should do GOOD, and not EVIL, but it’s a razor sharp edge between doing good, and being in bondage to obey the law!”

Not at all! There is no razor sharp edge to walk – the scripture on which that person, indeed, much of the world, bases that thinking, isn’t saying that at all! See for yourself!

Galatians 5:1 Stand fast therefore in the liberty wherewith Christ hath made us free, and be not entangled again with the yoke of bondage.

This yoke of bondage is interpreted by men to be the Ten commandments – but that’s not what it’s saying at all! Read on!

Galatians 5:2-3 Behold, I Paul say unto you, that if ye be circumcised, Christ shall profit you nothing. For I testify again to every man that is circumcised, that he is a debtor to do the whole law.

Look at the context! Paul isn’t talking about the Ten Commandments!! He’s talking about CIRCUMCISION! Circumcision wasn’t a part of original Ten Commandments at all!

Circumcision symbolized the signing of a commitment to obey the law of Moses, that is, the sacrifices and ceremonies and offerings given by Moses. And THAT LAW, the laws of rituals and sacrifices, was a yoke of bondage which COULD NOT save anyone – “For it is not possible that the blood of bulls and of goats should take away sins.” (Hebrews 10:4).

The blood of bulls and goats COULD NOT JUSTIFY you before God! Sin earned you the penalty of HUMAN DEATH! A HUMAN life had to pay for your sins, the life of a goat wasn’t good enough!

Galatians 5:4 Christ is become of no effect unto you, whosoever of you are justified by the law; ye are fallen from grace.

The whole PURPOSE of the sacrifice of Christ was to REPLACE that law of Moses, the sacrifices, the rituals. If you try to be saved by THAT law, then Christ is wasted on you!

Hebrews 10:11 And every priest standeth daily ministering and offering oftentimes the same sacrifices, which CAN NEVER TAKE AWAY SINS: But this man [Christ], after he had offered ONE sacrifice for sins for ever, sat down on the right hand of God;

And so THAT law, most of which you find in Leviticus and Numbers, was DONE AWAY and replaced by CHRIST! And if you desire to be under THAT law, which was a yoke of bondage which COULD NOT make those who came to it perfect, and desire to be justified by the blood of bulls and goats which CANNOT take away sin, you are fallen from grace and Christ is worthless to you!

That’s all Paul was telling the Galatians; simply that the circumcision, and the law of Moses was done away. And if you’ll read the first two chapters of Galatians you’ll see why he had to say that.

But the SPIRITUAL law, the Ten Commandments, were NOT done away. And Paul did NOT, at any time in the Bible, say that the Ten Commandments were part of that law! The law of Moses, the sacrifices, and the washings, were added LATER, because of sin, and for a very specific time period!

Galatians 3:19 Wherefore then serveth the law? It was added because of transgressions, till the seed should come to whom the promise was made; [Christ] and it was ordained by angels in the hand of a mediator.

Notice that the sacrifices were added because of the SINS of the people, and they were to last UNTIL CHRIST CAME! THEY were done away when Christ came. But the Ten Commandments, the law that Paul said was Holy, Just, and GOOD, was NEVER done away, no, and never WILL be done away!

As David says “So shall I keep thy law continually for ever and ever.” (Psalms 119:44) David certainly couldn’t have said that, under inspiration of God, if the Ten Commandments were only to last until Christ, could he?

No, of course not.

That, my friend, is what the Bible says. Isn’t it time you learned from your Bible, instead of learning traditions and fables from men, that the Bible DOES NOT TEACH?
